^^^ I stared at that for not kidding, 10 minutes. It’s pretty daunting, I mean this is my very first post. Not just on this blog, but anywhere. And it’s not just some post, it’s the start of what I hope will be a successful exchange for music lovers all over this black hole that is the internet. I figured I’d start simple. Get the ball rolling and see what happens.
I’m going to share my personal favorite playlist. There are about 500 songs on there right now (truly idk how that even happened). *Unfortunately, I can only share 200 on the embedded link, so I handpicked a selection of these songs and pasted below.* If I listen to a song for 30 seconds, deem it likable, and something that I want to find again later, it goes into this playlist. It is literally called, “I Like You.” I created it when I was a junior in college, so it starts off kind of rocky in terms of what I was listening to (yes there will be one or two Taylor Swift songs on there- it’s who I am, man and I frickin love her.) But it kind of follows my progression as I started veering away from “Today’s Top Hit’s” on Spotify, or oldie’s that I would play on repeat when I had nothing else (of course I still have those days). Now you’ll find some Bahamas on there, but you’ll also find Lori McKenna. You’ll see Two Door Cinema Club, and you’ll also see The Kinks.
This is the only playlist I’ll share that will even be remotely this long, but this is so personal and so true to who I am, it seems right to just get it all out there. If you are ever looking for something to put on, feel free to browse through and give something a listen. That’s how I found half of these and the list will continue to grow. In the future, I hope to curate some more tailored playlists based on moods, events, days of the week, the type of sandwich I’m eating, etc. It’s all a work in progress, and I’m excited to finally put the figurative pen to paper, and the literal fingers to keyboard to start sharing what I love most.
Hopefully, in time, there will be concert reviews, upcoming shows, bios on artists, and general music recommendations up here. I am going to work hard to make this great and if you’re starting this journey with me now or if you’re looking at this a year from now (I REALLY hope this will be a thing a year from now) then welcome! Let’s talk music.
The only thing there really is left to do is honestly just the damn thing. So,
